LEARN HOW TO BRING CHAIR YOGA INTO THE LIVES OF KIDS TO SUPPORT HEALTH AND MINDFULNESS
National guidelines recommend at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity every day for children and teens, but the majority of young people do not meet that goal. Spending excessive time watching TV, playing video games, completing homework, virtual learning, and other screen time activities only contributes to the problem.
Mayuri Gonzalez’s Teaching Chair Yoga to Kids will help answer the question, how can we help? Children and teen’s lives don’t always lend themselves to getting on a yoga mat. But when we bring the practice into a chair, we can open up a whole new world of opportunity for practical, accessible, and sustainable yoga experiences, making it much easier to integrate regular movement into the day-to-day lives of young people.
This two-part training with bonus pre-recorded content is best suited for yoga and mindfulness instructors, classroom teachers, and clinicians. However, all others who work with children are welcome to join, including parents and caregivers interested in supporting their children with chair-based yoga and mindfulness tools. You’ll learn to teach engaging chair yoga to kids and teens that will get them moving and address postural imbalances brought on by virtual learning and other sedentary screen-time activities.
Plus, you’ll:
- Create and learn how to implement engaging chair yoga sequences
- Learn to teach seated breathing, mindfulness, and relaxation practices to children and teens
- Explore how movement enhances learning processes
- Learn how chair yoga powerfully complements mindfulness programs
- Cultivate a deeper understanding of the needs of children and adolescents
