LFY Training is a comprehensive, trauma-informed program in yoga and mindfulness practices for children and youth ages 3 to 18. Registered by Yoga Alliance, and offering up to 6 optional graduate level credits*, training focuses on supporting the communities we serve in accessing inner resources, building resilience and healing.
The foundation of this training is rooted in building an attuned, compassionate relationship with our students and ourselves. From there, we equip you with a wide range of activities that you can immediately implement with the kids you work with.
You’ll learn a clear, structured framework, based on our five element methodology, that will allow you to teach an integrated experience of yoga and mindfulness in any setting, whether in-person or virtually.
You will return home with a deeper understanding of child development, the capacity and confidence to create programming that meets children’s needs, and the knowledge to teach safe, inclusive and accessible classes. Learn to navigate challenges with your students even when things get tough.
Training combines all three levels of the Little Flower Yoga certification program for a deeply empowering experience.
This hybrid program includes a five day in-person immersion at the Omega Institute’s Rhinebeck campus with engaging live-streaming and self-paced digital content.
Participants have the option of extending their stay at Omega to join our weekend community retreat for LFY teachers August 6-8th.
Bring an open mind, comfortable clothes that you can move in, and anything you think you might need for learning. We’ll have yoga mats, props, and training manuals, and maybe a few other things as well (we like presents :).
More information
$45 materials fee; included when you register.
Completion of this training, along with additional online components (register separately), qualifies you for LFY Certification; see littlefloweryoga.com.
LFY is a Registered Children’s Yoga School, which means that completion of our training qualifies participants to register with Yoga Alliance as an RCYT, subject to additional YA requirements. Registration with Yoga Alliance is subject entirely to their policies, and requires having an additional 200 hour teacher training. We suggest reviewing their requirements directly as they may be subject to change.
Those not interested in Yoga Alliance registration are still eligible for Little Flower Yoga Certification. Be in touch any time if you have questions.
*This program offers 3 graduate level credits for training participation, and 6 credits for full certification (which includes additional online components). The credits offered are post-baccalaureate, graded, graduate-level semester credits, provided directly through the University of the Pacific. They are specifically designed to meet the needs of Educators for Salary Advancement and Recertification. For more information visit littlefloweryoga.com/training
