Advanced Teaching Practices and Implementation Strategies (Level 3)
This Level 3 training is part of our certification program. To become a Certified Little Flower Yoga Teacher, you’ll need to complete the following requirements: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Trauma-Informed Teaching, Chair Yoga for Children, Supporting Neurodiverse Children, Teaching Practicum, and Mentorship (online). This final level of the LFY certification training offers you the tools you need to effectively create lesson plans and teach from your own authentic presence.
With lots of time for practice teaching, feedback, and questions and answers, we look at how to develop lessons and different ways of teaching based on your personal practice. We also address the challenges and opportunities of working with adolescents.
You will learn:
- Stages of youth development through the teen years
- Restorative yoga practices for children and teens
- Lesson planning and curriculum development
- How to teach from your personal practice
- How to work with parents and caregivers
Meet Your Trainers:
Mayuri Gonzalez, LFY’s School Yoga Project Director, is a nationally recognized presenter, trainer and instructor in mindfulness and children’s yoga with over 25 years of practice. In her role with LFY, Mayuri trains and mentors teachers, counselors and school support staff. She is a contributing author to Best Practices for Yoga in Schools, and a presenter for PESI, offering continuing education to educators and health care providers.Read More
Argos Gonzalez, LFY Director of Professional Development, has 14 years experience teaching High School in the Bronx, and teaches pre-service teachers at Hunter College School of Education. Argos is a trusted expert with a foot in both the yoga + mindfulness and education worlds.
